Two numbers, then a sample on the customer's back

Most online size calculators map a customer onto a generic size chart. Ours maps them onto the actual graded pattern ladder our factory cuts from, so every size it returns corresponds to a garment that physically exists and can be tried on in your shop. The customer gives height and weight, the engine returns a starting size for jacket and trousers separately, your staff confirm it against a real sample, and the finished size sheet goes into production without anyone re-typing it. It runs in a phone browser in four languages, with no app and no account.

Steps 1 to 4 happen in your shop and are normally done inside ten minutes. Step 5 happens in our atelier in Shanghai, and the point of it is that nobody transcribes anything: no photographing a paper form, no emailing measurements, no translating between two systems. Transcription is where measurements get lost, and removing the step removes the error.

What sits behind the number

Four design decisions that make the size mean something to a pattern room.

It runs on a real grading ladder
The engine places a customer on the graded pattern ladder the factory actually cuts from: four body-shape ladders, each defined by a fixed drop, with every rung corresponding to a garment that exists. That is why the size can be verified by putting a sample on someone's back, and why it means something when it reaches the pattern room. A generic chart can do neither.
Shape and size are separate axes
Body shape, expressed as the drop between chest and waist, and size are handled independently, so changing one never quietly changes the other. Jacket and trousers are sized separately too. A customer with a drop-8 chest is not forced into a drop-8 trouser, which is the single most common way an automated size goes wrong.
Adjustments have hard limits
Girth adjustments are capped. Past the cap the engine moves the customer a size rather than stretching a pattern beyond what it was graded to do. This is deliberately conservative: a quietly distorted pattern produces a garment that is wrong in a way nobody can see until it is finished.
It learns from your finished orders
Once your shop has real orders completed, the engine stops relying only on formulas and starts regressing from your own finished garments, matching on category, fit preference, height within 3 cm and weight within 5 kg. It needs at least five comparable completed orders before it will override the formula, it learns only from garments that actually reached production, and it can be scoped to your shop alone. Below that threshold it falls back to the formula, so there is never a dead end.

Frequently asked questions

Can height and weight really be enough?

They are enough to get to a starting size, not enough to finish the job, and we would not claim otherwise. What makes the approach work is the step after it: the size maps to a real sample garment your customer puts on, and the fitting is where the answer is settled. Two numbers plus a physical try-on beats twelve numbers taken by someone who has never been shown how to hold a tape.

What if the customer is between sizes or an unusual shape?

That is what the adjustment step is for, and adjustments are per measurement rather than a blanket size change. Where a body sits outside what the ladder was graded for, the engine moves a size instead of stretching the pattern, and your own eye on the sample garment overrides it either way. Nothing stops your staff entering a full set of measurements when they want to.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in a phone browser, with no app to download and no account to create, in English, French, Spanish and Chinese. A customer reads it in their own language. If your shop has wifi and a phone, you have everything you need.

Does it work if I have never ordered from you before?

Yes. The learning layer needs five comparable completed orders before it activates, so on day one the engine uses its formula set and the sample garment does the rest. Nothing is gated behind having ordered first. The improvement over time is a bonus, not a prerequisite.

Who owns the customer data?

Your customers are yours. The learning can be scoped to your shop alone, so it calibrates to your customer base rather than someone else's, and your patterns and client files stay retrievable under your own account. We are a production partner; we do not sell to your customers.

What does it cost?

Access comes with the production relationship rather than as a separate software purchase, and the sizing kit that makes it work in a shop is quoted per shop depending on how many sample garments you want on the rail. Tell us the size of your operation and we will quote it.
