Common questions
Can AI really measure someone for a made-to-measure suit?
Yes, two approaches dominate. Photo-based tools build a 3D body model from smartphone photos; input-based tools predict a full measurement set from height, weight, age and body type, trained on large body databases. Vendors such as 3DLOOK, Bold Metrics, TrueToForm and MirrorSize report accuracy approaching an in-person fitting. The practical point for a brand: these tools are licensable. You do not need to build your own AI to run an AI-fit suit brand.
How do I start an AI-powered made-to-measure suit brand?
You need two halves. Fit: license an AI measurement tool (or start with a well-designed fit questionnaire) so customers can be measured online. Manufacturing: partner with a factory that accepts digital measurements and produces from one piece. With a no-minimum factory you hold zero inventory. Each customer order is cut individually in 14 to 20 working days under your own label. So the capital cost of launching is a sample suit, not a production run.
Does Centi Sartoria use AI to make suits?
We are the manufacturing half of the stack, and we are honest about it: orders reach us as digital measurement sets, from any AI measurement app, scanning tool or fit questionnaire your brand uses, and each garment is then cut and constructed by tailors in our Shanghai atelier of 200 house tailors. The algorithm's job is measurement; the atelier's job is a well-made suit. We don't sell you AI; we make sure what the AI measured fits when it's stitched in real cloth. If your brand has no measurement tool of its own, you do not have to go and buy one: we provide a sizing engine that turns a customer's height and weight into a starting size on our own graded pattern ladder, which your staff then confirm against a real sample garment in the shop. It is a fitting tool, not an AI product, and we describe it as exactly that.
Which AI measurement tools can you work with?
Any of them. We are tool-agnostic: if your app or scanning vendor outputs a body measurement set, we produce to it. That includes photo-scanning platforms, prediction-based sizing engines and conventional fit-questionnaire flows. Your measurements arrive digitally; your suit ships in 14 to 20 working days.
What does an AI-MTM suit cost to produce?
The same as any made-to-measure suit from our atelier. The AI layer is on the brand's side and doesn't change the ex-factory price. Why does the minimum order matter so much for AI-fit brands?
Because AI fit produces one unique garment per customer. If your factory requires bulk minimums, you're forced back into stock sizes and the AI measurement becomes decoration. A genuine one-piece minimum, every order, not just the first sample, is the manufacturing property that makes the whole AI-MTM model economical.
